Welcome to an new addition to the 6 Star 4 Less insights & offerings written for new and experienced cruisers alike.
Episode 1
ONE WEEK OUT
The excitement and anticipation is palpable in our household. Suitcases are out, packing list is being generated, Trip Folder ( more on this later ) is being compiled.
Any holiday, but especially a cruising holiday is a cause for happiness. We gather as an extended family, booking 3 cabins for a forthcoming South Pacific cruise aboard Royal Caribbean's Voyager of The Seas which departs out of Brisbane.
It's a Status Run for one in our family who will reach Diamond tier in Royal Caribbeans Crown and Anchor Society loyalty program. Diamond is a real sweet spot where you start to receive some great benefits. A principal benefit being 4 complimentary drinks per day of cruise. See Table posted

Our Trip Folder contains hard copies of documents we may need whilst on holiday. This folder becomes our safety net should wallet, passport or mobile phone get mislaid, stolen, or phone stops working or connecting at the most inopportune time.
Documents include copies of Sea Pass card for boarding, passports, drivers licence, travel insurance. If you travel with any medications you could include a Doctors letter of said medications.
We like to order our Trip Folder in chronological order. So if I've transport booked to pick us up, OR if I have airport carparking reserved, this would be the 1st document seen in the folder, the next document would be our flights and so on.
At the end of our cruise the Trip Folder becomes our memento of a family holiday and cruise well spent together. It holds no $ value, but much sentimental value.
Trip Folder also becomes your reference library for future cruises on how much your cruise cost, which cabin you had & what you might do differently next time etc.
DAY OF TRAVEL
Where did that last week go??
Have I done everything? have I packed everything? Myriad last moment thoughts that pop into your head.🙄
But THE day of travel has arrived.👍
Our booked transport has arrived 15 minutes early.
Thank goodness for XL transport to haul us and luggage comfortably.
Thank goodness I have a couple of suitcases outside and waiting to the loaded.
We are using Qantas Link A220 to fly into Brisbane. I reserved seats 17 A/C, 18 A/c & 19 A/C. The A220 Economy config is 2 - 3, and we like the 2 seat config.
We are safely to accommodation - Domain Serviced Apartments Racecourse Road Ascot which we've used multiple times.
Bonus!!! Apartment ready when we arrived at 1100
We have a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment complete with full kitchen and laundry, and a great under cover balcony. Reasonably priced
A short walk to Brisbane River for 50 cent ferry to Felons under Storey Bridge for Bugs n Beers.

At that ends our first day.
More to follow on Royal Caribbean Corner Boarding Day.
